Help us celebrate the end of summer this coming Labor Day weekend with some great food and beach ultimate at the 2022 Workingman’s Disc Community Beach Hat tournament and potluck!
Sunday, September 4th, 9:30 am ~ 3:30 pm, between lifeguard stations 28 & 29 in Venice/Santa Monica. The event will be 4×4 or 5×5 mixed (depending on the final # of registrants).
Registration is free up until Thursday Sept. 1st but please do not sign up unless you’re fairly certain you’ll make it.
This event is also a potluck! We strongly encourage everyone to bring something, whether its food or drinks. Please bring something that may be able to last outside in the shade/sun all day (without perishing or going nasty), and enough to feed yourself as well as one other person.
In an effort to make these events more sustainable for us as organizers, we won’t be providing some of our usual beach hat specialties (namely pizza and oranges). We are promoting the potluck element of the hat tournament, to encourage the community of players to be more active participants in creating a festive vibe, rather than having it solely be on the organizers. This is why we ask you in the registration process to either bring something or come to help setup. Our goal is to have these events be run by our community as whole rather than the same few individuals year-after-year.
As usual, we’ll have lined fields, scoreboards, water, ice, and some other goodies. There will also be a massage table where you can work your friends’ kinks out for them. Please note, we will *NOT* have cups for water, even though we will have 5-gallon jugs of water out there. We ask that you bring your own container for water. Additionally, the sands get HOT on labor day weekend, so please bring beach sock if you have them. We will also have beach socks for sale at the event.
