Registration is now open for the 2024 LA Throwback Beach Ultimate Fest, to be held on MLK weekend, Jan 13-14, 2024 in Santa Monica, CA! The tourney is 5×5 mixed, with Masters and GM divisions (both mixed) as well. All fields in all divisions are lined.

Until Halloween (Oct. 31, for anyone who is not aware of it), registration for a 5×5 team is $750, which includes the reg fee for the first 10 players, and $75 per player beyond 10. Entry fees rise after Halloween. More event details at our Ultimate Central registration site.

For those of you not familiar with LA Throwback, you can find out more about our past events here. At the heart of what we’re trying to do is to put on a festive event that can also serve as a platform for young players and teams to become organizers and leaders in the sport. Each division has its own division central, and its own host team that runs the division. Host teams are local up-and-coming teams, whom we pay to staff the event to make sure you have a great time, that everything goes smoothly for you, and that you have everything you need. After we make sure all the bills are paid, we make as large a donation to them from the tourney proceeds as we can to support their season.

Fundamentally, we believe that most of the value in the sport and at a tournament comes from the unpaid work of captains, who are the people without whom there is no team and there is no tourney. Our goal is to serve captains, and by extension, your teams, to the best of our ability. Let us know what you want to see out there, and we’ll do our best to make it happen.

Please note: In order to participate in the LA Throwback Beach Ultimate Fest 2023, your team must be part of the LA Throwback Beach Ultimate Club. The event is only open to teams who are part of the LA Throwack Beach Ultimate Club, and is not open to the public. All players will be required to wear a wristband while playing, and to have access to tournament events and facilities. If your team is not already part of the LA Throwback Beach Ultimate Club, your captain can can sign the team up here.
