Iglesia Embajadores de Jesus  & Little Haiti

About Iglesia Embajadores de Jesus and Little Haiti

Run by Pastor Banda and Pastora Zaida, Iglesia Embajadores de Jesus is one of the largest of the 32 albergues in Tijuana. It provides care and shelter for two populations of migrants, one primarily of Centroamericanos, who live in the church building itself, the other of Haitians, in an encampment known as Little Haiti, which also houses African migrants, in an adjacent set of buildings.

Pastors Banda and Zaida were kind enough to allow us to initiate our art project at Embajadores de Jesus, with both populations of migrants.

While there, we met several people providing services to the migrants, and had the chance to speak with them. These interviews are posted further down on this page. We hope you can take the time to listen.

Migrants: 200-500 (~50% children)
